An accolades to Frida Giannini for her distinctive achievement of the Spring/Summer 2010 shoe collection. Gone are the kingdom of romance, hippie styles, and disco spirits, old dumbing-down collections that I used to think were beneath the respected label.
The Spring/Summer 2010 collection ranging from clothing, shoes, handbags to other accessories was pure sex appeal. She is truly a stylish! She started the show with white leather sky high stiletto sandals, but as the show progressed and the shoes changed from grey to black, bondage became the obvious theme.
These Gucci shoes surely are not for everyone, but I really appreciate the work of Frida Giannini for designing a collection that is solely for a type of woman.
Just an observation on how extremely fabulous the presentation was: the models had their pedicures that adds an overall impression to the shoes.
I am once again an avid fan of the iconic Gucci label with their Gucci handbags, shoes, clothing collection for spring/summer 2010. If Frida Gianini swear not to do again the awful hippie, disco, or flowery designs from her previous collections and focus more of the present clean glam style, definitely Gucci could recapture it’s once excellent reputation.
When Giannini stepped in, there were many season’s of hideous designs and lot of fans like myself, thought they were becoming a horrible luxury accessory ever.
However this collection is truly the work of a genius. The show started with all white and it slowly turned into gray and totally became black. The overlying theme of the label’s presentation was sex appeal and slavery and this was being visible to clothing lines and traces in the shoe and handbag collections.
The clutch bags presented were neat and clean in a single color. Smaller shoulder bags are also showcased during the show featuring a bamboo handle and small detail. This bag is something that I really love for the upcoming spring/summer handbags. They also have a metal chain and leather shoulder strap. The large totes are embellished with white Guccisima leather in a harness detail on the front and have double whip leather straps. This type of bag really capture the essence of Gucci Collection for the spring /summer 2010.
From the richest to the poorest, the recession has had an effect on everyone. Even the very rich have had to take a look at their finances and re-think some of their priorities. Many of the wealthiest people are cutting back on their spending on luxury items such as high fashion wear and as a result the high fashion community has generally encountered deflated sales figures.
So, what has the fashion industry chosen to do about declining sales? The majority of fashion designers are creating looks for 2010 that are more down to earth, every day looks rather than the elaborate, fanciful designs of the past few years. The fashions for 2010 will be intended to flatter a wider array of sizes and shapes with billowy dresses and opulent sweater sets. Designs that reflect the new thriftiness have found their way into all levels of society. Since the financial meltdown the net worth of the rich has declined and it is now considered fashionable to be thrifty.
Designers have responded by creating less expensive, more sensible clothing. Collections carry lower prices as the industry accommodates consumers looking to dress down. Designers are creating more casual and versatile clothing that can be worn for more than on type occasion.
High end stores like Saks Fifth Avenue have turned their focus from dresses that top $1000 and are now focused on low-mid luxury prices in the $400-$600 range. While the average person cannot fathom even these prices, they represent a huge change from the last few years when prices kept climbing and designs were extremely elaborate.
Essentially, the fashion industry has responded to the current recession by creating clothes that will sell; clothes that are more practical and affordable. eBay is selling Gucci and other fashion brand names at about 40% below retail; they have seen a rise in the median income of their shoppers from $80,000 to $120,000.
The fashion industry is responding in a way that will enable survival through the recession; with more practical designs and less expensive prices.
Ladies, if you love handbags, listen up! Did you know you can find Dolce and Gabbana handbags online at less than retail prices? It’s true, websites such as Styledrops.com feature name brand fashion at discount prices, including Dolce and Gabbana clothing and shoes. If you are a real handbag aficionado you won’t want to miss a chance to own an authentic D&G handbag without paying retail.
For a night out at a social event perhaps the most beautiful of the D&G handbags is the black handbag with 5” handle. It is constructed of multiple materials including leather, snake skin, suede leather, pony-hair calf and patent leather. This beautiful handbag is eye-catching and will garner many enthusiastic comments.
For a casual day of shopping a zip top bag with a shoulder-belt handle would be perfect. Not only would this fantastic brown leather bag keep your belongings safe and secure but it would be easy on comfortable to carry for long periods. Another great bag for a day out would be a shoulder carry bag that features a zippered main compartment plus two zippered side compartments.
We all periodically need to rebel against the gloom of winter by surrounding ourselves with bright colors such as that of the bright red leather handbag with brown trim. Carrying this purse is bound to lighten your step and add brightness to your day.
When you are simply letting down your hair and wearing jeans and a T, D&G has created the perfect bags for such casual times. A perfect example is the shoulder strap bag with a zippered main compartment, one snap side compartment and one zippered side compartment. This bag is made of man-made material, comes in gunmetal grey and is absolutely marvelous!
All Dolce and Gabbana handbags distinctively display the Dolce and Gabbana signature logo plaque.
No matter what type handbag you desire, you will be able to find a Dolce and Gabbana online that is sure to please you.
The Dior dress designed by John Galliano was made famous when Carrie wore it in Sex and the City. Now John Galliano expanded his accessories in 100 styles of bags, small leather goods, belts, luggage and travel bags. This was licensed to Plus IT for design, production and distribution under a five-year contract.
The collection will include the Dior creative director’s design signatures on prints, appliqués and embroideries as well as on messenger, doctor, and hobo bags. Made from faux oilskin leathers, washed nylon, distresses calf skin and kilim-printed corduroy.
The collection has also a romantic mood featuring the Galliano logo in blush pint with gemstone embroideries, lacework, heart-shaped metal charms, keys and the letter G.
The house of Fendi offered variety styles for their 2010 Spring/Summer handbag collection with two opposing themes – vintage and futuristic.
The designer, Karl Lagerfeld used lots of obscure, lingerie influenced fabric to cover several handbags, but the end results are bit sloppy and worn.
Some Fendi handbags are made of wooden handles and has an unusual feature of a snap on fabric cover, in various form of materials from linen with a flower-embroidered edge to needlepoint.
Other wooden handled handbags has a strip of transparent Perspex, giving a futuristic element that looks inappropriate for a vintage style bag.
Leather and snakeskin materials embroidered with some decorative details are being used for Peek a Boo handbag.
Most perplexing were the transparent Perspex clutches and they modeled empty but what does it look like if it has something inside on it? Of course it would ruin their beauty to carry anything in them. We use bags to carry things, right?
I saw one potential bag from the collection and it was a studded Perspex clutch. The studs gave enough cover so you could actually tote the bag with no sloppy-look at all but there’s a huge empty space with no studs where your hand should go to carry the bag.
Overall, I found the effort of the designer creating extraordinary handbags for the chic and classy women with a vintage and futuristic approach towards fashion.

As we all thought, Vera Wang is just for bridal wedding gowns and other ensembles but now isn’t just for brides anymore. Her handbag collections are rapidly expanding her fashion empire. The bags itself could tell you why.
The designer continues her beautiful and exquisite designs and give more attention to details in her handbag arena as she does in her gowns. Her newest collection features beautiful materials like soft nappa leather, exotic stingray, and satin in simple, yet elegant frame bags.
Very demure and lady-like handbags that reminds me of handbags wore by women in the 50’s.

No one captures the heart of every woman except Manolo Blahnik. He is solely responsible for the design of every thousand pairs of shoes that bear his signature.
When Carrie Bradshaw, the shoe-loving main character of the Sex And The City TV series, took a wrong turn after lunch in SoHo she found herself on one of New York’s grungier side streets and face-to-face with a mugger. “Please sir,” she pleaded. “You can take my Fendi baguette, you can take my ring and my watch, but don’t take my Blahniks.”
Unfortunately, the mugger took off her favorite pair of strappy Manolo’s.
The TV series plays a very important role in Manolo’s life. He has become one of the renowned designers whose name is synonymous with their product. The name itself – Manolo – is now used as a label to describe very expensive and very beautiful shoes. Even though some people never have a chance to see the actual pair of Manolo Blahniks.
I really really appreciate the works of Manolo. His remarkable achievement given that Blahnik is solely responsible for the design and prototype of every shoe that bears his name without any apprentices. Without any formal trainings in shoe-making, he has dominated the entire shoe business in London“I didn’t need it,” Blahnik told his friend Michael Roberts only half-jokingly in the late 1970s, “because I’ve got the best taste in the world.”
She’s dazzlingly beautiful in her perfect body, great wardrobe and owned several mansions. She really does have it all! To add more, she has an exclusive designer for her shoes and he is no other than in the name of Christian Louboutin.
Mattel, the Barbie manufacturer has partnered with Christian Louboutin to give the 50-yr old doll a makeover.
Amazing because none of the three dolls are blond and it was conceptualized from head to toe inspired by Nefertiti and Marilyn Monroe. Louboutin made some little changes to Babie’s ankles into a slimmer one to best compliment his famous shoes.
The collection consists of three dolls packed in Louboutin shoe boxes. Each come with four pairs of Barbie-size Louboutin heels.
The three dolls will be released individually in different months. The first jewel thief-themed Barbie will release this coming December, the other will be on February in a safari-themed Barbie, and for the month of May, Louboutin designed a Barbie for Cannes Film Festival.
Each doll will cost $150.
We all develop a sense of style, it may be a very fashionable sense of style or it may be a jeans and T-shirt sense of style but we all have a sense of style. Where does it come from, are we born with it or is it something we pick up along the way? Growing up most of us girls had dolls like Barbie that we could dress up. We all looked forward to getting her new fashionable outfits and accessories. Barbie contributed to the fashion sense of a whole generation.
Today girls can go online and find fashion games that allow the player to change outfits, hairstyles, make-up and accessories until they attain “the look” they desire. There are sites for young girls that simulate fashion shows where the player dresses each model for her walk. Many celebrities and public figures are represented on these fashion game sites allowing girls to give them a virtual make over. Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez, Britney Spears and many more celebrities are available for make over in fashion games. Girls who are crazy for fashion or want to have a career in some aspect of fashion will have a fantastic time with fashion games.
While they are busy having a ball playing a fashion game, girls are developing their own individual sense of style. Playing dress up fashion games provides a wonderful opportunity for girls with a lot of imagination to hone their eye for fabric, design and fit. For girls who are a bit shy and tentative about their looks, fashion dress up games allow them to experiment with various looks before actually attempting the look for real.
In addition to providing hours of entertainment, fashion games encourage the next generation of shoppers by helping to develop their sense of style.
