Platform shoes are here to stay!

Platform shoes are generally our favourites when it comes to choosing comfortable and stylish shoes. We love to be higher while still maintaining a good comfort that only a platform has the ability to provide. The thick soles are normally made of cork, foam, rubber or wood, the latter also known as clogs. The idea of wearing such footwear has been around for centuries, back in time we had people such as the Greeks and the Romans, the Japanese and the Chinese wearing platform shoes. In Ancient Greece, they were used to raise the height of important individual characters within the theatre performances, as well as high-born citizens in 16th century Venice. The Ancient Chinese traditions of thick soles made of layers of white clothes are still kept in the Peking opera shows, while the Manchu women of the Qing dynasty wore platforms with separate heels that would later be adopted in European fashion world. Since the popularity of platform shoes shows no sign of waning, most women’s shoe manufacturers have their own version of the platform shoe. However, there are a few brands that stand out with particularly stylish, well-constructed, and fashionable platform shoes. One of the biggest names in fashion-forward shoes, including platform shoes, is Italian designer Prada. This brand was the first one adding the platform to the classic Oxford shoe, that became a fashion staple in the recent years. The Prada shoes collection for SS2016 features Oxford platform styles for both women and men.

The Apple Hermès watch comes with a stainless steel watch, an iconic leather strap and an exclusive watch face. Hermès has been using brown leather with a white seam in for its mechanical watches. The Apple Watch Hermes ‘Cuff’ is available in a 42mm case and fauve strap.
